An ambitious visionary, keen administrator, trusted advisor, trained musician, passionate worship leader, and loving servant, Pastor Kenneth Chism is indeed many things to many people, but holds being a friend of God at the very center of his life.

At an early age, it was obvious to all that this young man was uniquely gifted by God and destined to do great work in the Kingdom. What appeared to be a humble, nondescript beginning at St. Luke Apostolic Church in South Boston, VA, was actually the launching point of an amazing productive Christian journey.

His appreciation for music and love for the distinctive sound of the church has helped develop his tremendous gifts as a skilled musician.  While music was always a passion in this young man’s heart, he has always had an insatiable thirst for a deeper knowledge of the Word of God. Pastor Ken demonstrated early the spirit of launching successful ministries. In high school, he formed a community choir called “Chosen”, which became well known for it’s unique sound, energetic movements, and spirited performances. Through this ministry, many souls were baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy Ghost.

Having served as Minister of Music at many churches, the anointing to grow and develop people and ministries was apparent in his life as ministries would routinely double and triple in size, staff, and strength under his tenure. He acknowledged the call to ministry in 1995, while serving under the leadership of Apostle William L. Bonner. (Church of our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc.) In 2000, he was ordained an Elder under the leadership of Apostle Floyd E. Nelson, Sr. (Bible Way Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc.)

Having accepted the call to minister at an early age, he is well acquainted with the inherent challenges therewith, thus allowing him to minister with sensitivity and honesty to the young, as well as the old. Pastor Ken has faithfully served the Body of Christ in various capacities as the Lord has so gifted him. Minister of music, worship leader, youth director, and church administrator, are only a glimpse of his vast leadership roles.

Today, he obediently fulfills his calling as the shepherd of the Citadel of Restoration. His passion for God’s word coupled with a love for God’s people enables him to reach diverse levels of life.
